In Norse mythology, Dellingr was the personification of dawn. Nótti (goddess of the night) and Dellingr had a son Dagr. The parents gifted Dagr with two horses whose shining manes light up the whole earth and two chariots which they placed high in the sky so that Dagr could ride across the dome of the sky all day and night.
